The Great Bend High School baseball team finished the regular season 10-10 with a sweep of Larned on Thursday.
On Saturday, the Panthers were handed the fifth seed of a Class 5A Regional Tournament hosted by Bishop Carroll.
As the fifth seed, Great Bend is set to challenge fourth-seeded Liberal (11-9) at 2 p.m. on Wednesday in Wichita.
The winner of the game moves on to a regional championship game against the winner of the Bishop Carroll-Wichita West game.

Lady Panthers’ way
Great Bend’s softball team is the No. 2 seed after a coin toss between Maize South, Hays and the Lady Panthers.
At 16-4, Great Bend hosts a regional tournament and plays Liberal (0-18) in the first round at 4:45 p.m. at the Great Bend Sports Complex on Wednesday.
The winners face the winner of the Hays-Goddard Eisenhower game.
