The Hays Indians came to town recently and the Great Bend Middle School 7th-graders never found their basketball groove.
After a 4-0 start to the game, the Great Bend A-team couldn’t get a basket to fall. Hays sank everything they tossed up to the basket. Joseph Moeder led all scorers with five points in the 50-15 loss.
The Great Bend B-team worked hard and showed lots of hustle but still came up short losing 40-28. Paco Hernadez contributed nine points followed by Jonathan Randall with seven points.
Both 7th-grade teams have posted 5-8 records heading into the Western Athletic Conference Tournament starting Thursday in Garden City.
