At the end of every season, there are 20 swimmers selected to be a part of one of two All-Western Athletic Conference teams.
This season, Great Bend High School claimed 11 of those spots after winning its 12th straight WAC title.
“It’s based on points earned in the WAC meet,” GBHS head coach Steve Beaumont said. “If they swam two individual events and placed well, then they have a good chance of making it.”
Hannah Hildebrand was named WAC Swimmer of the Year.
“She was obviously very deserving of that,” Beaumont said. “She dominated her events. She anchored our winning relays.”
Hildebrand, who is a senior, was a second-team All-State selection for the second straight year.
“She had a great career,” Beaumont said. “In the last two years at least, she hasn’t lost a race to a WAC opponent.”
Beaumont won WAC Coach of the  Year.
Along with Hildebrand, Great Bend’s other first-team selections are Michaela Cape, Kira Cook, Katy Jerke, Kylee Spray and Brenna Haines.
Hadley Murphy, Kalyn Blessing, Jessica Freund, Emma Williams and Maddie Vesta are all second-team selections this season.
