Hoisington’s No. 1 doubles team Emma Harmon and Tyann Schremmer placed first with a 7-0 record at the Great Bend Tennis Invitational Saturday at Veterans Park. The Cardinals defeated teams from Dodge City, Garden City, Liberal, Wakeeney-Trego and Great Bend Red and White.
Dodge City scored 65 points to capture first by winning No. 1 singles, No. 2 singles and No. 2 doubles.
At No. 1 singles. Dodge City’s Leah Stein placed first. Hoisington’s Katherine Warnken placed fourth followed by Great Bend’s Addison Ingram (sixth); Ellinwood’s Sarah Frakes (seventh); and Great Bend’s Alexis Folkerts (eighth).
At No. 2 singles, Dodge City’s Daniela Villareal finished first. Great Bend’s Gentry Schneider placed fourth followed by Ellinwood’s Taryn Robl (fifth); Great Bend’s Maddy Otter (seventh) and Hoisington’s Aurora Ingram (eighth).
At No. 1 doubles, Hoisington’s twosome was followed by Ellinwood’s Tara Collins-Katelyn Robinson (fourth); Great bend’s Sydney McAfee-Kira Cook (fifth); and Great Bend’s Alyssia Strickland-Mindy Wittig (eighth).
At No. 2 doubles. Dodge City’s Sierra Grice-Abigail Argumedo placed first. They were followed by Hoisington’s Rian Mooney-MyKayla Burgess, (fourth); Great Bend’s Jessica Nieto-Priscilla Ramirez (fifth); Great Bend’s Emma Bieker-Yulizza Barerra (seventh); and Ellinwood’s Macy Munson-Katelyn Reh (eighth).
