Kingman sweeps Larned
Larned Indians clr NEW

LARNED-Kingman’s Bailey Bangert poured in 28 points and led her undefeated teammates to a convincing 58-37 win over Larned Tuesday evening. The Eagles raced out to an 11-6 first quarter lead and never trailed, boosting that lead to 22-14 at halftime.
Larned’s strong defensive effort kept the Indians within reach through three quarters and trailed 42-29 as the teams began the fourth quarter but turnovers and poor shooting doomed Larnedto only eight fourth-quarter points and Kingman poured in 16 to increase their margin to the 58-37 final score.
State-ranked Kingman shot 51% from the field as they continually beat the Larned press for easy baskets. The taller Eagles dominated the glass , outrebounding Larned 33 to 24. Larned managed only 30% shooting.
A key ingredient in the game was free throw shooting. Kingman was 16 of 25 while Larned managed only 7 of 13, emphasizing the aggressive nature of the Eagle’s offense in attacking the basket.
In addition to Bangert’s 28 points, Shyann Jackson added 14 and seven rebounds. Larned was led by Haley Skelton’s 16, while Kelsey Parr and Ivory Muldrow chipped in with six apiece.
Kingman (7-0, 1-0) will host Hoisington in a Central Kansas League game Friday. Larned (2-5, 0-1 CKL) will travel to Hillsboro for a Central Kansas League game Friday.

KINGMAN BOYS 49, LARNED 32
On a night when points were hard to come by, the Kingman Eagles found just enough to outdistance Larned Tuesday evening, 49-32.
The Eagles jumped out to a 14-4 lead at the end of the first quarter as Larned could not find the shooting range and then maintained that lead throughout the rest of the game. Kingman led at halftime 25-16.
Larned was plagued by cold shooting throughout the contest, managing on 28% for the game while Kingman carved out a 45 percent effort due to more inside shots. Larned managed eight third-quarter points. Kingman played a zone defense throughout the game and the Indians really never got into any kind of offensive rhythm against it leaving the cold-shooting Indians frustrated and taking chances which resulted in 20 turnovers for the game.
Kingman’s season-long leading scorer, Tanner Albright again led the Eagles with 18 points. He was backed up by Logan Buelher and John Molitor with 8 apiece. Larned produced no player in double figures. Jonathan Herter’s 8 and Chance Sanger and Thomas Harmon’s 7 points led the Indians.
Kingman improved to 3-4 on the season and will host the Hoisington Cardinals Friday. Larned falls to 2-5 and will travel to Hillsboro on Friday for a Central Kansas League game.
