Kiowa County nips St. John girls

KIOWA CO. 33, ST. JOHN 32 — Sierra Lingafelter’s free throw with 5.4 seconds left lifted the Mavericks past St. John’s girls in the Keady Classic semifinals. Janessa Zenger scored 16 points. The Mavericks will play the Spearville-Larned winner in Saturday's finals.
St. John’s Tara Nelson scored 16 points and Bailey Burns added 10 points. The Tigers outscored the Mavericks 24-11 for a 32-31 lead. Burns converted a 3-pointer for a 32-31 lead, but the Mavericks made three free throws.
