SALINA — The Great Bend High School girls’ swim team won the Salina Invitational on Thursday evening.
The Lady Panthers finished with 469 points, topping second-place Garden City, which had 420 points.
Salina Central finished in third place with 354 points.
“At this point of the season, we really needed a big meet like this,” GBHS head coach Steve Beaumont said. “It was time to really find out where we are at, conditioning-wise, as a team.
“I was very proud of the competitiveness our goals demonstrated today. Lots of season- and personal-best times from many on the team. It was truly a total team effort.”
Hannah Hildebrand was a part of all three first-place finishes for the team.
Hildebrand won the 100-meter butterfly with a time of 1:05.52 and the 50 freestyle, clocking in at 26.36.
She joined Kira Cook, Michaela Cape and Kylee Spray to win the 200 freestyle relay, touching in at 1:50.70.
