HAYS — Tristan Hall highlighted a pair of wins for Great Bend High School’s baseball team at a triangular hosted by TMP Marian.
The Panthers started the day by blasting Scott City 12-3, and ended with a gem pitched by Hall for a 3-2 victory over TMP.
Hall went the full seven innings, handing out two hits and four walks.
He struck out 10 batters.
“Tristan just pitched a dandy of a game,” GBHS head coach Randy Beck said. “He had good command. He pitched himself out of jams. Four of his 10 strikeouts finished an inning.”
Hall’s biggest conquest was the bottom of the seventh.
“In the bottom of the seventh, TMP had the tying run on second,” Beck said. “He walked the next batter and got three strikeouts to get out of the inning.”
Brayden Smith got the win in the first game, pitching the first four innings.
Shade Wondra came on in the fifth inning.
“We were up 6-3 in the bottom of the sixth,” Beck said. “Then we scored six runs to kind of run away with it.”
Wondra had three hits in the game, including a triple in the six-run sixth inning.
