Radio station to air Oilers

MANHATTAN - Hutchinson radio station KSKU (94.7 FM) will air Central Plains Oiler basketball games from the Class 2A state tournament at Bramlage Coliseum. Cliff Shank and Scott Mitchum from Central Plains will be the broadcasters.

The No. 1 ranked Oiler girls (23-0) play Pittsburg Colgan (14-9) at 3 p.m. Wednesday. The Oilers have won the last two Class 2A state titles.

The No. 1 ranked Oiler boys (23-0) play Lawrence Seabury Academy (18-3) at 6:30 p.m. Thursday. The Oilers finished state runner-up with a 49-44 loss to St. John in the finals.

HAYS — Sylvan Grove’s Legion baseball team rallied for a 5-4 victory over Ellinwood on Colin Obermueller’s game-winning single in Wednesday’s AA Russell Zone baseball tournament. The game was moved to Hays from Russell because of a unplayable field.Ellinwood (9-10) plays Thursday against the Marysville-Smith Center loser.Ellinwood led 4-1 after 41/2 innings. Sylvan Grove led 1-0 when Dylan Fry scored a first-inning run.Ellinwood’s Levi Swenson scored a second-inning run on a double steal with Evan Johanning.
