Seeding at stake for Panther football

After seven weeks, Class 5A No. 7 western seed Great Bend High School could finish as high as fifth or as low as ninth after Friday’s football game at Garden City. 
Great Bend (4-3, plus 24) could bypass Kapaun-Mt. Carmel and Valley Center with a victory against Garden City. Wichita Carrroll (6-1) plays Kapaun-Mt. Carmel and Valley Center plays Andover (3-4). 
The Panthers could lose to Garden City by six points and still finish as No. 8 seed. The Panthers will finish no worse than ninth western seed with a loss. If the Panthers finish ninth, they would play Andover High on the road in a first-round 5A playoff game Oct. 27.
The Panthers are yielding 23 ppg and 338 yards per game. S Dalton Miller (13 tackles per game) has three interceptions. The Panthers average 28 ppg.
QB Koy Brack has rushed for 719 yards and 13 TDs and passed for 920 yards and five scores. The Panthers average 218 yards rushing and 131 yards passing per game. TB Gage Fritz (598 yards, 4 TDs) and WR Dalton Bieker (549 yards, 4 TDs) lead the offense.
