HOISINGTON 63, LAKIN 15
LAKIN – It was breakout night for Hoisington standout Jason Robinson, who ignited a 63-15 District 7 football rout over Lakin with an opening 90-yard kickoff return. Robinson enjoyed a career night with four touchdowns after scoring on runs of 16, 22 and 24 yards.
Backup runners Kyler Dean Russell and Kaidenn Chambers each scored on 2-yard runs. Quarterback Tony Moore scored on a 3-yard run and completed a 48-yard scoring strike to 2-way standout Mason Alderdice. Teron Kraft added a 3-yard touchdown run. The Cardinals rushed for 331 yards and Moore threw for 125 yards.
Alderdice set up one of the second-half scores with a miraculous takeaway on a Cardinal kickoff to Lakin. Gage Britt recovered two lakin fumbles. Linebacker Ian Smith contributed three tackles and five assists.
Hoisington (6-0, 2-0 District) sets up a District 7 showdown at home Oct. 13 against Larned (5-1 2-0). Lakin drops to 4-2, 2-1 District.
