Third-place medalist Moore fires 289 game

WICHITA – Great Bend Panther Bryce Moore matched teammate Paige Wagner with a 289 game at Thursday’s 5A state bowling championship. Moore earned third medalist honors at 698 (193/289/216) and posted the best game score of the day. Moore earned 5A state runner-up honors in 2018.

“Bryce posted 10 consecutive strikes and left the 10 pin, just like Paige Wagner did,” said Great Bend coach David Feldbauer. “Bryce bowled really well in his games. We didn’t have a very good day overall.”

Great Bend placed eighth with 3,005 pins with series of 798/708/733 and Baker games of 207/183/205/141).

Other Panther finishers were 36th Corbin Stanley, 563 (201/194/168); 67th Caleb Murphy, 507 (182/148/177); 73rd Bradley Heine, 490 (162/167/161); 78th Ashton Ensley 475 (155/148/172) and 86th Dylan Ferguson, 430 (137/131/162).

Wichita Kapaun-Mt. Carmel captured the team championship with 3,769 pins and the Crusaders placed first with Cole Munley at 781 (267/267/247) and runner-up Sam Calderon at 747 (279/209/259).
