HOISINGTON – Hoisington’s boys celebrated Senior Night by thumping Lyons 59-36 in Thursday’s Central Kansas League basketball game. Drew Nicholson scored 19 points and Mason Haxton added 14 points.
The Cardinals (9-10, 4-5 CKL) used an 18-0 scoring run for a shocking 31-4 lead for a 39-8 halftime lead. The Cardinals converted 10 of 19 3-pointers. The Cardinals play Russell at home Tuesday in the 3A Hoisington substate.

HOISINGTON – Lyons’ Kristina Head poured through 24 points to spark a game-ending 16-2 scoring run for a 44-36 Central Kansas League basketball victory over Hoisington to spoil Senior Night.
The Cardinals led 34-28 when Lyons took charge in the final nine minutes.
Hoisington (5-14, 0-9 CKL) was paced by Kelsi Dalton with 14 points and Keeley Wolf with 11 points and a trio of 3-pointers.
CENTRAL PLAINS GIRLS 91, VICTORIA 31
SYLVAN GROVE – All-stater Emily Ryan scored 42 points with seven rebounds, six assists and five steals as Central Plains rolled past Victoria 91-31 in Thursday’s 1A basketball regional.
Kassidy Nixon scored 12 points. Addison Crites added nine points. Delaney Rugan had six steals.
The Oilers (21-0) have won 105 consecutive basketball games. The Oilers play Otis-Bison (19-2) in Saturday’s regional championship. The Oilers and Cougars qualify for Russell or Wakeeney substates next Thursday.

SYLVAN GROVE – Otis-Bison’s Maddie Wiltse dominated with 33 points as the Cougars roared past Sylvan Grove-Lucas 54-33 in Thursday’s 1A Sylvan Grove basketball regional.
Cora Anderson added 12 points and passed perfectly to Wiltse for several easy baskets from the high post. The Cougars (19-2) play No. 1 ranked Central Plains (21-0) in Saturday’s 1A regional championship game. The Oilers are riding a 105-game winning streak.

ELLINWOOD – Ellinwood’s Mya Maxwell and Lauren Petz converted free throws to seal a hard-fought 53-47 Central Prairie League basketball victory over Ness City. Ellinwood outscored Ness City 20-13 in the fourth quarter.
Ellinwood (8-12, 3-5 CPL) was led by Maxwell with 17 points. Madison Ward scored 16 points with Daphne Doll contributed 13 points.
Ness City (3-17,1-7 CPL) was led by Tiana Epperson with 12 points.
