• WHAT'S AT STAKE

Kansas State will be trying to make it two straight against the Hurricanes after a goal-line stand and video review gave the Wildcats a 28-24 victory last season in Coral Gables, Fla. Miami is trying to show progress under coach Al Golden after going 6-6 last season.

• KEY MATCHUP

Miami's running backs against the Kansas State defense. Freshman Duke Johnson ran for 135 yards in his 'Canes debut, a 41-32 victory over Boston College. Mike James added 54 yards rushing. They'll try to take advantage of the Wildcats' unsettle defensive front.

• PLAYERS TO WATCH

Miami: QB Stephen Morris was 28-of-45 against Boston College, both career highs, and finished with 207 yards passing and a touchdown. He'll be going against a Kansas State defensive backfield that had trouble shutting down Missouri State quarterback Ashton Glaser last week.

Kansas State: LB Arthur Brown began his career at Miami before transferring to Kansas State, where the Wichita native has blossomed into one of the nation's best at his position. He led the Wildcats in tackles a year ago, and is on the watch list for numerous awards.
