The certified public accounting firm of Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball Chartered participated in an intern community service day on Monday, June 22. The event was in conjunction with Leading Edge Alliance’s Young Professionals Volunteer Week.

“As a firm, we look forward to participating in these types of volunteer events,” said Brian Staats, CPA, managing partner at Adams, Brown, Beran & Ball, Chartered. “Involving our interns in this event, allows for them to see first-hand our firm’s overall commitment to giving back to the communities we serve.”

Five summer interns, Abby Steiner, Austin Knoll, Dale Nuckolls, Haley Stickel and Roxanne Ochs, from various firm office locations, participated in the community service day. In the morning, the interns visited the United Way of Central Kansas office where they assembled early childhood literacy kits. In the afternoon, they went to the Golden Belt Humane Society where they walked and played with dogs and helped staff in giving the animals’ their summer haircuts.

In 2015 the firm will employ 13 interns and 8 student workers who hail from 12 Kansas communities, including Wichita, Hays, McPherson, Hutchinson, Russell, El Dorado, Colby, Victoria, Leoti, Claflin, Ness City and Ellis.
