Clara Barton Medical Center is welcomed this week Kori Ostmeyer, MS, CCC-SLP, as the newest member of its healthcare team. As a Speech Therapist with experience in pediatric care, Ostmeyer is committed to making a positive impact on the lives of children and families in Barton County and beyond - especially those dealing with developmental delays and disorders.

Ostmeyer is originally from Great Bend. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Fort Hays State University in 2016. Further enhancing her skills and knowledge in the field, she went on to obtain a Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from FHSU in 2018.

Following the completion of her master’s degree, Ostmeyer began her career at an outpatient clinic in Junction City, where she dedicated her skills to serving primarily pediatric patients. In addition, she achieved a professional milestone in 2019, earning her certificate of clinical competence from the American Speech-Language Hearing Association - a nationally recognized professional credential that serves as a mark of excellence in the Speech-Language Pathology profession.

As a speech therapist, Ostmeyer’s primary focus lies in pediatric care, with a particular emphasis on working with children facing developmental delays and disorders, specifically Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her specialized experience allows her to provide personalized treatment, ensuring each child’s unique needs are met with the utmost care and attention.

“I enjoy being close to my family and friends, and serving the people in this area,” said Ostmeyer. “As a speech therapist, it’s so rewarding working with patients and their families, helping them reach their maximum potential to function independently and promote active participation at home, school, and in the community.”

Outside of work, Ostmeyer enjoys spending quality time with her friends and loved ones. She is married to her husband, Troy, and together they have one daughter, Madelyn. Her hobbies include cooking and watching sporting events.

Ostmeyer is dedicated to working with patients and their families to achieve lasting progress. If anyone has concerns, her advice is to seek help sooner rather than later. Early intervention and proactive support can make a significant difference in a child’s development and overall well-being, building a foundation for lifelong success.

“I am thrilled to add Kori to our team of exceptional therapists here at Clara Barton,” said Natalie Bieberle, director of therapy services. “Kori brings vast knowledge and experience to our team, specifically with the pediatric population. She will be a wonderful asset, and this allows Clara Barton Therapy Services to continue to grow and excel to serve patients of all ages in the community and surrounding areas.”
