A Great Bend native has returned to her hometown to care for and treat patients at St. Rose Health Center.

Kristin Ohnmacht is the physician assistant who recently joined St. Rose Family Medicine, located on the facility’s first floor. She brings to her new position five years of experience in family practice, emergency medicine, urgent care and orthopedics.

“I work as a family-practice provider, treating both acute and chronic medical conditions in patients of all ages,” Ohnmacht said.

Her areas of special interest include both women’s health and pediatrics. She performs annual well-women exams and well-child checks.

Ohnmacht was born and raised in Great Bend and is a 2001 graduate of Great Bend High School. She is happy to be in her hometown with familiar faces and eager to become re-acquainted with the rest of the community.

Ohnmacht’s local family includes her parents, three siblings, a niece and nephew, and her 1-year-old son. She is engaged and plans to be married next year.

“I was born at Central Kansas Medical Center (now St. Rose),” Ohnmacht commented. “My family has a long-standing history with this facility. I am so pleased to be part of the new St. Rose, and excited about today and what the future holds. I feel that St. Rose Health Center offers quality health care that our patients deserve.”

Ohnmacht earned a bachelor’s of science in biology at Kansas State University in 2005 and a master’s of medical science in physician assistant education in 2009 at St. Louis University.

She is licensed and board certified by the Kansas State Board of Healing Arts. She also is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.

Ohnmacht’s most recent physician-assistant position was at Clara Barton Hospital in Hoisington.
