A formal ribbon cutting was held on Nov. 19 at the new Nex-Tech store, at 3700 10th Street in Great Bend

Nex-Tech relocated its store location to 3700 10th Street in Great Bend on Nov. 1. Nex-Tech customers will enjoy easier access in and out of the parking lot with entrances available on both 10th Street and Grant Street. Customers can sign up for all their technology services at the Nex-Tech store including telephone, Internet, wireless, security and business IT solutions. The property also provided Nex-Tech the ability to place its new central office building on the same property as the store location. The central office building houses network electronics and fiber terminations necessary to support Nex-Tech’s $1.7 million fiber optic expansion project in Great Bend.
Construction on the fiber project continues to advance in Great Bend. Nex-Tech Engineering Manager Terry Peterson said crews are currently installing fiber along 10th Street just east of Patton, as well as four blocks west of Main Street, going east along 10th Street. According to Peterson, “Work will continue until the ground freezes for the winter. Once the ground thaws in the spring, construction will continue, with the project expected to be complete by the end of 2016.”
Rick Taylor, Business Sales Representative, added, “The fiber Nex-Tech is installing will provide businesses a distinct advantage by giving them access to our powerful Fiber-To-The-Premise connection. Fiber Internet is extremely reliable and can deliver incredible speeds up to 1 Gig. Businesses will be able to upload and download information much more quickly and bandwidth intensive services, like streaming and video conferencing, will be seamless.” Businesses can sign up now and Nex-Tech will begin installations early next year.
