Ambrose and Jean Demel celebrated their 50th anniversary on Nov. 13 with a family luncheon and reception. Ambrose Leonard Demel and Patricia Jean Hancock were united in marriage on Nov. 12, 1960 at St. John Evangelist Catholic Church in Hoisington. The couple has nine children, Pat, Sandy and husband Curt Davis, Joe, Sue and husband Tom Rose and Aimee and husband Dusty Wyant, all of Hoisington, Don and wife Christa of Great Bend, Ben and wife Kathy of Hutchinson, Sam and wife Lynda of Newton and Cheri and husband Darrin Haberman of Brentwood, Tenn.; 23 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
