Marguerite Anna Davidson will celebrate her 90th birthday with an open house reception from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. on June 26, at the First Christian Church, 5230 Broadway, Great Bend. Hostess for the event will be Louise Gunn and Caron Zager, both of Great Bend and her good fiends. Marguerite requests no gifts for the event just fellowship with her friends and family.
Marguerite (Marge) was born June 26, 1921 in Mendon, Mo., to Virgil and Freda Green. She married Clark Davidson, her first love and best friend, on Feb. 28, 1940. In 1950 they moved to Great Bend where they lived a wonderful life for 56 years until Clark’s death on March 3, 1996. Clark and Marguerite were blessed with two children, Arlen of Leavenworth, and Ronald, deceased in 2010. She also has six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. Winters were spent traveling to the Valley in Harlingen, Texas and the hot month of August fishing in Canada.
Marguerite has always had a love for plants which made her profession at LaakerSchessler and Larry’s Garden Centers through out the years. Now her time is filled with helping out with many activities at First Christian Church which she is a member, and Retired Senior Volunteer Program and coffee time with her great friends, “The Collectables”.
Cards may be sent to 1617 Madison, Great Bend KS, 67530.
