WICHITA — Theresa Peters, 71, passed away Monday, July 27, 2026 in Wichita, Kan. Theresa was born Nov. 18, 1954 in Great Bend, Kan. to Frances (Smith) and Leonard Erb. Theresa was one of 11 children and grew up in Timken, Kan. She attended school at Otis-Bison.

Theresa married her late husband Russell Peters on May 13, 1983. They lived in Kinsley, Kan. and later moved to Timken. She worked primarily in health care as a CNA. Theresa enjoyed playing online trivia games, quilting and crafting, and gardening. Theresa also enjoyed cooking and baking breads and kolaches for her family.

Theresa is survived by her four children, Michael Erb and wife Jody of Austin, Christina (Dunham) and husband Scott of Douglass, Nicole of Derby, and Shawna (Peters-Maldonado) and husband Gerson of Kansas; grandchildren Mari Erb, Andrew Erb, Sean Erb, Allie Wulff, Braedon Lopez, Izaak Ortega, Kaden Dunham, Karsen Dunham, Graeson Walter, Jace Dunham, and Adelia Maldonado-Peters. Theresa also has three great-grandchildren. Theresa was preceded in death by her husband Russell Peters; her parents Frances and Leonard Erb; her niece Shele Maher; and infant sibling Mary-Joseph Erb. Theresa is survived by nine siblings, Jim (Trena) Erb, John Erb, Bill (Linda) Erb, Betty Anderson, Jerry (Lorene) Erb, Irvin (Vickie) Erb, Paul (late wife Deena) Erb, Philip (Francis) Erb, and Don (Deb) Erb; along with many nieces and nephews.

A private family graveside service and a celebration of life will take place Aug. 29th at the Timken Holy Trinity Church at 1 p.m.
