Preceptor Pi Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi met Dec. 7 at the home of Janis Link. President Brenda Black led the meeting.
The chapter had received a thank-you note from the Food Bank for the chapter’s $50 Thanksgiving donation, which provided milk and eggs for families in need.
Judy Krebaum gave two Beta Briefs. The first one was an article in the Torch on the passing of Beta Sigma Phi International Chief Executive Officer Jack Ross in April and an article about Legacy Membership, also from the Torch. She also read about the tradition of Beta Sigma Phi programs from the Book of Beta Sigma Phi.
Reta Lucas gave the program on “Women and Shopping.” According to information from an online source, she said, women spend an average of 399 hours and 46 minutes each year shopping. One-fourth of that time is spent grocery shopping; 10% of the time is spent on gifts; 48 hours and 51 minutes are spent window shopping; and the remainder is spent shopping for themselves for clothes, toiletries, etc.
The next meeting of Preceptor Pi will be the Christmas dinner meeting at 6:30 p.m. Dec. 14 at the home of Rosie Luthi, who also will serve as co-hostess and present the program.

The Pilot Club of Great Bend recently installed its new executive board for the 2018-2019 year. The include directors Jari Marietta, Ros Neeland, Nancy Sundahl, Judi Fox, and Treasurer Betty Schneider, Corresponding Secretary Norma Ward, Vice-President Nicci Henderson, President–elect Marcia Johnson, President Rhonda Knudson and Recording Secretary Sally O’Connor.Pilot club is an international civic organization established in 1921 with a focus on education and support and prevention of brain-related disorders and injuries of all types. The mission of Pilot International is to influence positive change in communities throughout the world.
