Spring Break is coming to the Great Bend Public Library! Starting on the 13th through the 17th, we will have activities all week for all ages. There may be no beaches in Kansas, but that won’t stop us from hanging ten and getting our surf on during our Surfs Up Surfboard Decorating Contest. All ages can put their art skills to the test to see who can create the gnarliest surfboard design. Our surfboard contest will run all day Monday.
Tuesday at 10:30 will be our regular Story Time, but with a twist. This time, all ages are invited to get in on the fun!
Wednesday is a day of movies and munchies with not one, but two, special showings of fun family-friendly movies. Plus, as always, FREE POPCORN! Come for the popcorn, and stay for the show. While I can’t flat out tell you what the movies will be, I can tell you that at 10:30 a.m. we will be showing a movie about a magical singing family who really doesn’t want to talk about a guy named Bruno. Poor Bruno. Sure, his best friends are rats, and sometimes he glows green, but he seems like a nice enough guy. For our next movie at 1:30 p.m., all I can say is, in the famous words of Michael Buffer, “Let’s get ready to rumble!”
On Thursday, come one, come all, come hungry, to the library for Beach Blanket Bingo. At 10:30 a.m., we welcome all ages to join us for Beach Blanket Bingo: “Grocery Edition.” Get a bingo and earn some food. Who could ask for a better prize?
Last, but certainly not least, Friday, March 17th is St. Patrick’s Day, which means that at the library we will be having a whole day O’ fun for everyone. Look forward to scavenger hunts, crafts, delicious treats, and more. These events will be going on all day, so just drop in when you can to join in on the St. Patrick’s Day fun. But don’t forget to wear green, or at least grab a green book - it’s St. Patrick’s Day after all!
