This photo from Sept. 3, 1981, shows Mandy Donley and Brandon Hemphill holding a double cantaloupe that was grown by their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Hemphill on their place south of Great Bend. The two melons were joined most of the way up one side. If you have homegrown oddities or larger-than-normal vegetables, bring them by the Great Bend Tribune to have your picture taken with them.
