The Hoisington Masonic Grand Lodge of Kansas awarded Central Plains senior Katie Gunder, left, $50 for her participation in an essay contest. Ken Atteberry, presents a check and certificate for winning the Hoisington Masonic Lodge local essay contest. Gunder faced the task of writing how focusing on the tenets of brotherly love, relief, and truth could benefit neighbors, school, community and self. Her entry has been sent on to the state Grand Lodge to be judged in the next level of competition.
