GBHS native promoted to Colonel in USAF Reserve

Cory Roberts

After 23 years of distinguished military service, Cory Roberts was promoted to the rank of Colonel in the United States Air Force Reserve on May 15. He recently transferred from an assignment at the Pentagon as the Deputy Director of Intelligence at the National Joint Operations and Intelligence Center to be the Individual Mobilization Augmentee to the Commander, Joint Intelligence Operations Center at US STRATCOM Joint Intelligence Directorate at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. 

Roberts is a graduate of Great Bend High School class of 1996 and Kansas State University in 2001. He also holds a master’s degree from University of Phoenix and several other advanced certifications. He is the son of Max and Kathy Roberts of Ellinwood and Dee and Stephen Volpert of Great Bend. Cory has one son, Canyon; two daughters, Sophie and Ava, and wife, Angela of Waverly. Cory and his family live in Chicago, Ill. area where he works in commercial real estate as a Senior Director for the world’s largest commercial real estate company.
