HOISINGTON – Hoisington Lincoln Elementary held a qualifying spelling bee competition on Feb. 2. The four qualifiers from each grade then took part in the spelling finals, held on Feb. 11. The qualifiers from each grade were: Third. Ema Debes, Kesslor Denning, Joziah Hipp and Rose Thomas; fourth,  Kamben Burkey, Brogan Edgerton, Johnny Johnson and Brinley Maier; and fifth, Briley Bash, Willow Braddy, Aiden Hawkins and Harmony Moore.

Winner of the spelling bee was Maier and runner up was Burkey.
Marathon runner Tracy returns with presentation 'Keep Kids Safe Online'

Leading online safety speaker and marathon runner Ben Tracy will present “Keep Kids Safe Online” in two online presentations on Sunday, April 13, at Heartland Community Church in Great Bend. There will be a presentation for parents at 2 p.m. and one for students at 6:15 p.m. Tracy recently completed a run across America that included a stop at Holy Family School last October.
