It’s a summer of change

What a summer it has been at the Ellinwood School/Community Library! While the past few months have brought many changes and adaptations, our commitment to serving our community has remained stronger than ever.

At the end of June, we celebrated the retirement of our incredible Library Director, Sheri Holmes. Sheri dedicated many years of service to our library, our schools, and our community. Her passion, leadership, and friendly smile have touched countless lives, and while she will be greatly missed, we wish her nothing but happiness and relaxation in her well-deserved retirement.

As many of you know, the library has been temporarily relocated to the Ellinwood Grade School while HVAC renovations are completed at our High School building. Although our location and services have changed, we are grateful to have continued serving our patrons throughout the summer.

We are excited to announce expanded summer hours beginning next week!

Library Hours

  • Monday: 8:30 a.m. – 7 p.m.
  • Tuesday - Thursday: 8:30 a.m. – 4 p.m.
  • Friday: Closed

While we are operating from our temporary location, some services remain limited.

We have a wonderful selection of newer books available for checkout, and if you don’t find what you’re looking for, we’ll gladly request books from other libraries. We also continue to offer black-and-white copying, lamination services, magazines, and newspapers.

At this time, we are unable to provide public computers, color copying, or fax services due to our temporary location. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through these renovations.

Whether you’re looking for your next great read, need a document laminated, or simply want to stop in and say hello, we’re here to help. Amy, Terra, and Heather look forward to welcoming you and assisting with your library needs.

If you have any questions, please give us a call at 620-564-2306.

Thank you, Ellinwood and surrounding community members, for your continued support, flexibility, and encouragement throughout this season of change. We look forward to seeing you at the library!
