Larry and Sharon Kubitscheck will celebrate their 50th anniversary on May 11, 2020, with a card shower.

Larry and Sharon (Radke) Kubitscheck were married on May 11, 1970, in Minturn, Colo., shortly after Larry was drafted during the Vietnam Era. Bestman at the ceremony was Tom Bustos, a friend and fellow member of the Army, and the Maid of Honor was Jody Kubitscheck, sister of the groom.

Larry grew up in Colorado and Sharon was a Great Bend native. The couple relocated to Great Bend after completing military service, living here for the last 48 years.

Larry worked at Thies and Great Bend Packing, retiring as a Human Resources Director. Sharon, a Barton County Community College graduate, worked with children through Head Start and later cared for the local Catholic churches and church office.

Together the couple raised five children, Aaron (Andrea) Kubitscheck of Canyon, Texas, Raechel (Sean) Manley of Lyons, Clista (Adam) Pfannenstiel of Wichita, Joel (Melanie) Kubitscheck of Warrensburg, Mo., and Patrice (Logan) Farber of St. Peters, Mo. They have a total of 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

The couple have enjoyed serving their local church together and working with the youth. Larry is an avid hunter and Sharon is a crafter extraordinaire.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 50th Anniversary Reception has been postponed to a later date. Cards can be mailed to Mr. and Mrs. Larry Kubitscheck, 280 SW 50th Rd., Great Bend, KS 67530.
