If freezing temperatures aren't your cup of hot chocolate, grab some popcorn, hot cocoa and a blanket and enjoy some winter movies. Here are five movies to keep kids, and adults, entertained on a snow day.

iTunes: 'The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe'

Based on C.S. Lewis story, the movie follows four English siblings who are sent to live in the country during the bombings of London during World War II. While there, a magical wardrobe transports them to Narnia where the White Witch has enforced a constant winter. The Dove Foundation praised the film for teaching that evil should be proactively fought against, stating that it "is one of the most entertaining and inspiring fantasy/adventures for the family to hit the big screen in a long time. The website also cautioned parents, saying, Due to the lengthy battle scenes and other life-and-death issues, parents of very young children are encouraged to see the film first. OK.com recommends the film for viewers ages 8 and older.

Amazon Instant: 'Cool Runnings'

Loosely based on the true story, the first Jamaican bobsled team competes in the 1988 Winter Olympics. Parent Previews states "the movie teaches the importance of sportsmanship and determination," and says the film "shows how getting to your destination is just as enjoyable and worthwhile as achieving the final goal." Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 7 and older.

Redbox: 'Frozen'

After Queen Elsa accidentally causes an infinite winter, her sister, Anna, tries to break the spell. The Dove Foundation gave Frozen its Family-Approved seal for all ages, stating the film features themes of sacrificial love, friendship and loyalty. Because the story includes a snow monster that may be a bit frightening, the website provides a word of caution for very young children. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 4 and older.

Amazon Instant: 'Snow Day'

A school is snowed in and a group of students makes the most of the day. The Dove Foundation awarded the film its Family-Approved seal for all ages, stating that although the film is a "kid's fantasy about them-verses-us ... it contains a positive message about friendship." The website also notes that the film was made for kids, not adults, and includes "infantile jokes." The site also mentions the children in the movies show disrespect for the principal and the snowplow man. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 11 and older.

Amazon Instant: 'Happy Feet'

In a world where emperor penguins sing to find their soul mate, a penguin is born who cannot sing, but he can tap dance. The Dove Foundation awarded the film its Dove Family-Approved seal for ages 12 and over, referring to the film as a cute movie with fabulous music. The website notes some scary parts and some sexually suggestive song lyrics. Ok.com recommends the film for viewers ages 6 and older.
