LYONS — The Rice County Historical Society’s Coronado Quivira Museum will hold a reception to open the exhibit “Quilts from the Rice County Historical Society’s Collection” from 1-3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 6, at the Coronado Quivira Museum, 105 West Lyon in Lyons. Sixty quilts have been donated to the museum since it was established in 1928.
Although the quilt donors are known, many quilt patterns are not. If visitors to the exhibit can help the museum staff identify a pattern or two, it will be most appreciated.
The exhibition will be available to the public from Aug. 6 to Oct. 4. Museum hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturdays. For more information call 620-257-3941.
