Hello from the Great Bend Public Library.
Today, Friday, March 2, bring the kids down to the Children’s Department at 10:30 a.m. for Pre-school Story Time. Later this evening, adults are welcome to come and enjoy popcorn while watching the Adults’ Night Out Movie at 7 p.m. in the Lower-Level Meeting Room. The north doors will be open from 6:45 p.m. to 7:15 p.m.
We have no events scheduled on Saturday, March 3.
Sunday, March 4, the Friends of the Library meet at 2 p.m. in the Kansas Room. If you would like to join this group, sign up at the library. Dues are $10.
On Monday, March 5, children grades 3 - 5 can come at 4 p.m. to participate in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) activities at the Children’s Department’s Innovation Station. Also at 4 p.m., Teen Tech Week kicks off with popcorn and a movie in the Teen Spot. Crochet is in the Main Conference Room at 6 p.m.
Tuesday, March 6, the Children’s Department is hosting Baby Bounce Story Time at 9:30 a.m. and Toddler Story Time at 10:30 a.m. For any teens who love to write, the Teen Writing Group meets at 4 p.m. in the Teen Spot. Teen Tech Week continues with 3D Printer Basics and an introduction to Tinkercad at 5 p.m. in the Dane G. Hansen Media Center.
For the Teen Tech Week installment on Wednesday, March 7, the teens meet in the Dane G. Hansen Media Center for the Hour of Code.
Thursday, March 8, Crochet is in the Main Conference Room at 3 p.m. Teens are challenged to participate in the Teen Tech Week Lego Challenges at 4 p.m. in the Teen Spot. Adults are invited to get crafty during our Adults’ Night Out Craft in the Lower-Level Meeting Room at 6 p.m., where they are making jewelry magnets. Registration is required, as supplies are limited.
On Friday, March 9, bring the kids again to the Children’s Department’s Pre-School Story Time at 10:30 a.m. At 1 p.m. the Children’s Department invites kids to come and watch a movie. Teen Tech Week winds down in the Teen Spot with popcorn and a movie at 1 p.m. followed by Tech Take-Apart at 3 p.m. Those interested can register online for the 3D Printer Basics Class at 3:30 p.m. in the Kansas Room.
Teen events are open to teens grades 6 - 12. Adult events are open to adults age 18 and older. Crochet and 3D Printer Classes are open to anyone grade 7 and older. Individuals grade 6 and younger must be accompanied by someone grade 7 and older.
