Marilyn Monore would have turned 100 on June 1st. She is still one of the best-known icons of America. The Academy Museum of Motion Pictures is unveiling a new exhibition, “Marilyn Monroe - American Icon.” Fifty-four percent of Marilyn’s followers are under the age of 34. She touches hearts because of her life story of coming from foster care as Norma Jean to redesigning herself to Marilyn Monore. If you want to know more about Marilyn, come to Nora’s Place.
There’s a new kind of Library – with no books! This idea originated in Denmark and is going global. You check out a person! You can’t leave the premises with your person and check-out time is limited to 30 minutes. Someone who will listen to you, answer questions on a particular topic and just be there for you. Amazing isn’t it? We’ve had that for over 120 years PLUS books and sooo much more!
We are excited and want to remind you about PBS coming June 8th at 10 a.m. Preschoolers and family will enjoy a video, a book, and crafts.
Every child will leave with a free book.
