Darwin and Maritta Schloemer will celebrate their 50th anniversary on Aug. 30, 2019, with a card shower.

Maritta Phillips and Darwin Schloemer were united in marriage on Aug. 30, 1969, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Great Bend. Darwin is employed by Midwest Energy. Maritta is employed by USD 405 in Lyons. The couple have two children, Damon and Donna Schloemer of Lakewood, Wash., and Devin Schloemer of Lyons; four grandchildren, Deborah and Talbert Frazer of Puyallup, Wash., Darian Schloemer and fiance Bryant Woelk of Russell, Breanne Schloemer and Colton Schloemer, both of Lyons; and two great-grandchildren, Weston and Preston of Russell.
