The 32nd Annual Kansas State Demolition Derby will be held Sunday, September 6, part of this year’s four day Labor Day Weekend in Hoisington. The Hoisington Chamber of Commerce hosts the annual event, with support from Superior Essex, JRZ Enterprises, and Parr Sound and Lighting. Derby Drivers will be vying for nearly $3,000 in prize money and trophies!
We are excited to announce that Chad Markley/Markley Demolition, Inc. will be providing the officiating, inspecting, and announcing of our demo derby this year.  With this announcement, we will be adopting rules/regulations as outlined by MDI (Markley Demolition, Inc.).
The Derby will feature three classes in 2015, Modified (Old Iron), Compact, and Stock (Bolt and Chain).
The first place in the Modified Class will receive $1250, second place $700, third place $400, fourth place $250 and fifth place $150.
Compact Prizes: 1st Place - $600; 2nd Place - $300; 3rd Place - $200; 4th Place - $100.
Stock Prizes: 1st Place - $800; 2nd Place - $400; 3rd Place - $200
All placing cars will receive a trophy. Prizes of $30 each will be presented to the three finalists in each heat.
Entry fee for the Derby will be $30 for driver and car in the Modified and Stock classes and $25 in the Compact class if registered before Aug. 31. Entry fee at the derby site will be $35 or $30. To register before Aug. 31, send your check and registration to the Hoisington Chamber of Commerce, 123 N. Main, Hoisington, Kansas  67544.  An additional fee of $15 will be charged for each pit man. There will be a limit of five pit-crew per car.
Tickets available at the gate: Adult $10, $5 children 4 –12, children 3 and under free, Pit Passes are $15. The Derby will start at 1 P.M. and will be held at the Hoisington Ballpark on West Second Street. Concessions and beverages will be available for purchase. No outside coolers allowed in stands.
