A helping hand
Great Bend High School freshman Tanya Sanchez and Sarah Mauler, along with Vicki McCulley and Jenna Mauler, help United Way of Central Kansas frame posters. The posters were created by local fifth graders in Larned, Ellinwood and Great Bend. Winners were chosen by a United Way committee and they will be presented to individuals and businesses that support United Way and the 21 agencies they help fund. Julie Bugner-Smith,UWCK director, said volunteers are the backbone of the community and that her campaign depends on these volunteers to make the United Way goal of $235,000.
