Alpha Kappa Master Sorority met on March 9 at the Roy Peter Bach Car Musuem.

Merlene Baird reminded members of the Preceptor ritual to be given to Glenna Melkus at the May meeting. Mother’s Day committee Wadonna King and Marcia King will hold that tradition also at the May meeting. During new business, the chapter voted to send to Beta Sigma Phi International a monetary gift to the general funds of the institution. Additional new business included the election of 2021-2022 officers: Connie Carlton, president; Merlene Baird, vice president; Patty Smith, recording secretary; Marcia King, corresponding secretary, Glenna Melkus, treasurer; and Alice Clapsaddle, extension officer.

The program was given by Glenna Melkus with “Plastics, the Good, the Bad and the Ugly” and by Patty Smith with “Recycled Materials.”

During the social hour, members were treated to “Queen for a Day” with members receiving crowns, roses, and queen’s gifts. Melkus served refreshments of “blarney stones” and drinks.

The next regular meeting will be at 2 p.m. on April 12 at the home of Wadonna King.
