All Star Marching Band features area students

MANHATTAN — The 3rd annual All Star Marching Band Day will be held Saturday at Kansas State University. Area students selected for the band will perform at halftime of the KSU football game in Manhattan. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.

Great Bend High School students Allen To and August Siefkes will be in the band. To will play tenor drums and Siefkes will be on cymbals. GBHS Band Director Grant Mathews said Siefkes qualified for the honor band while attending St. John High School and has since transferred to Great Bend.

Other area students in the band are Riley Thompson, flute/piccolo, and Dawson McNeal, trumpet, both from Central Plains High School; Chase Keesling, tuba, and Robbie Stansbury, tenor saxophone, both from Lyons High School; and Ellsworth High School students Sarah Fay, clarinet; Logan Erichsen, trumpet and Hayley Sanchez, trumpet; Jonathan Spacheck alto sax; Cameron Hysong, baritone sax; Kirsten Meier and Adam Vehring, baritone/euphonium; Rachel Sebesta, flute-piccolo; Haley Pfeifer, tenor sax; and Noah Erichsen, trombone.
