Business hit by two crimes in one day

Crime Stoppers is seeking information about two crimes that happened the same day at two locations in Great Bend. Police Chief Dean Akings said stolen items belonged to the same local business, Garb’s Welding.
Sometime between 10 p.m. May 15 and 7 a.m. May 16, oxygen and acetylene bottles, torch regulators and hoses were stolen from trucks belonging to the business. One truck was at 901 Hubbard St. and the other at 2503 Forest Ave. Loss was $2,900.

Nazarene Church to hold car wash

The First Church of the Nazarene’s children’s ministries will hold a car wash from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19, at the Great Bend Appliance and Furniture Store parking lot, 2301 10th St. Lunch of grilled hamburgers and hot dogs will also be available.Money raised at this fundraiser will be used for children’s camps, quizzing and other projects and activities.
