Bev Komarek from the Barton County Historical Society will present "Quilts Plain and Fancy" at 1 p.m. Friday at the Great Bend Senior Center, 2005 Kansas Ave. From the earliest days in Barton County, each family had quilts as a necessity. Quilts were also an art form. Quilting is still part of our county, Komarek says. The Historical Society has a quilt collection of about 50 quilts.

This informative program will include a PowerPoint presentation of the collection of quilts from the Historical Society.
