RUSSELL COUNTY — A bicyclist was flown to Wesley Medical Center in Wichita from the scene of an accident south of Lucas in Russell County, around 3:40 p.m. Thursday.

Kansas Highway Patrol reports Adam B. Hickman, 28, of Lucas, was riding his bike on K-232, 12 miles north of Interstate 70, and was in front of a truck tractor driven by Ronald R. Campbell, 64, of Elm Creek, Neb.

Campbell attempted to pass the bike in the left lane at the same time Hickman made a left-hand turn in front of him. The truck hit the bicycle. Campbell was not injured.

A spokesman for Wesley Medical Center said Hickman was listed in fair condition Saturday.
