Heartland Center for Spirituality in Great Bend will present its first in its Movies with a Message series on Friday, Aug. 23.  The movie, “Thomas Merton:  A Film Biography,” covers the life of Father Merton, who was an acclaimed 20th century writer on spirituality and social issues. The movie begins at 6:15 p.m. at the Dominican Sister Motherhouse, 3600 Broadway. Refreshments will be served, and there will be discussion time after the movie. A freewill donation is requested.
Other movies for the fall include “Doubt” (2008) on Sept. 20, “Inherit the Wind” (1960) on Oct. 18, “Strike” (2006) on Nov. 15 and “Monsieur Vincent” (1947) on Dec. 6.
