The Barton County Commission will meet at 9 a.m. Wednesday at the Barton County Courthouse, 1400 Main in Great Bend. The meeting will be open to the public but will also be streamed live due to COVID-19.

It will be live-streamed through Microsoft Teams. Citizens may view the meeting through their own sign-in or by signing in anonymously.

The agenda includes:

• The inventory of county property.

• The 2023 cold mix asphalt contract for the Road and Bridge Department.

• The 2023 county highway stripping project.

•  The 2023 Kansas Natural Resource Coalition membership.

Following the agenda meeting, the following appointments are scheduled:

•   9:45 a.m. – personnel with Levi Morris, county attorney. 

• 10 a.m. – discussion about upgrading the locking system for the Barton County Annex with Marissa Woodmansee, juvenile services director, and Dereck Hollingshead, information technology director.

• 10:15 a.m. – Acciona Energy update and conditional land use permit application from Tillman Infrastructure LLC by Skyward Land Services Inc. with Judy Goreham, environmental manager. 

• 11 a.m. – wire guard system addition to Caterpillar compactor rebuild with Jennifer Hamby, solid waste director.  

• 11:15 a.m. – regular business discussion with Matt Patzner, county administrator.
