The Crest Theater in Great Bend.

Auditions for the second show in Great Bend Community Theatre’s 2015-2016 season, “The Kitchen Witches,” will be held Sunday, Jan. 3 at 2 p.m. and Monday, Jan. 4 at 7 p.m. in the Crest Theater, 1905 Lakin Ave.
Performance dates for this comedy by Caroline Smith will be Feb. 11-14 and 19-20.
Artistic Director K.B. Bell noted that “The Kitchen Witches” will be GBCT’s 100th production. “We are going to do six performances.”
There are roles for two women ages 50s to 60s, one male in his 30s to 40s, and one role for a male or female 18-25 years old, although the ages are flexible.
About the show:  Isobel Lomax and Dolly Biddle are two “mature” cable access cooking show hostesses who have hated each other for 30 years, ever since Larry Biddle dated one and married the other. When circumstances put them together on a TV show called “The Kitchen Witches,” the insults are flung harder than the food! Dolly’s long-suffering TV-producer son Stephen tries to keep them on track, but as long as Dolly’s dressing room is 1 inch closer to the set than Isobel’s, it’s a losing battle. The show becomes a rating smash as Dolly and Isobel top both Martha Stewart and Jerry Springer!
No advance preparation is necessary for the audition session. Questions may be directed to Bell, who can also provide a reading script for interested parties.
