'Back on Broadway' comes to Golden Belt concert stage
new slt concert broadway

Following the success of “On Broadway” during the 2007-08 Community Concert season, Matt Davenport Productions has created a brand new production, “Back on Broadway,” and it’s coming to Great Bend as the Golden Belt Community Concert Association’s fifth concert of the 2013-14 season.
The performance is set for 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 3, at the Great Bend Municipal Auditorium, Lakin and Stone. This GBCCA event is available to concert association members. Full-time students will be admitted to the concert for a $5 donation at the door by showing their school I.D. The auditorium will open at 6:30 p.m.
This all new Matt Davenport Production delivers an exciting evening of show stoppers. The multi-talented cast of 10 brings to life the most popular scenes and songs from the new Broadway classics by portraying star-struck performers arriving in the Big Apple looking for their big break. With their new-found book, “How to Succeed on Broadway,” how can they fail?
In dazzling costumes, the triple-threat cast performs with backgrounds of colorful, quirky scenery and orchestral music tracks made by the most recorded instrumentalists in the country. The show includes full-production numbers from “The Producers,” “Ragtime,” “Legally Blonde,” “Mary Poppins,” “Avenue Q,” “Jersey Boys,” “9 to 5,” “The Addams Family,” “Mama Mia,” and others.
“Back on Broadway” also brings out the hits from award-winning recent revivals such as “Anything Goes,” “South Pacific,” “Evita,” and “Hello, Dolly.”
