Four Great Bend Band students were selected to perform with an honor band in connection with the Kansas Bandmasters Association’s Convention in Wichita last Friday, July 19. Guest clinician, Erin Cole, directed the band. Ms. Cole is the Director of Bands at Tapp MS in Cobb County, Georgia. She was impressed with how well prepared and well behaved the students were. The band students spent the morning and early afternoon perfecting five pieces that they performed that afternoon. GBMS band director, Don Regehr, nominated the four students selected. They were Samantha Mayers on clarinet, Emilee Nelson on flute, Rowan Orth on percussion, and Natalie Williams on alto saxophone. “I really appreciate the work these students have put into this music during their summer break,” said Regehr.
