The Shafer Gallery is currently featuring the annual BaRTaRT Faculty, Student and Staff Exhibition.
Awards were given to Barton students participating in the student art competition.
This year’s guest judge was ceramic artist Phyll Klima. She gave critiques of the award-winning artwork and words of encouragement to the student artists. The exhibit runs through May 6 and features ceramic art by Klima, and works by Barton faculty and staff.
“The hard work of creating and the discipline involved in the production of any work of art finds its culmination in the Gallery,” said Gallery Director Dave Barnes. “A work of art has to be seen to be experienced, to have life and to impact and inspire the world. Without the exhibit, the artist’s work is like a song that is written but never performed. The BaRTaRT exhibit is our way of giving the artists of the Barton community the opportunity to sing loud in a supportive professional art world context. “
