On Saturday, April 16, eleven Barton County 4H’ers wrapped up the 2011 shooting season by  competing in the 4-H State Air Rifle Match held in Great Bend.
In the Junior Division, ages 9 to 13, Ian Allen of Great Bend placed 3rd in the standing position, 2nd in the kneeling position and 3rd overall with a total score of 500 out of 600. Ryan Kohman of Great Bend placed 2nd in the prone position and 7th overall with a score of 463 out of 600. Katelyn Reh of Ellinwood placed 10th overall with a total score of 436 out of 600. Lake Lyman of Ellinwood and Shiani Hughes of Ellinwood also competed in this division and both placed in the top 20.
In the Senior Division, ages 14 to 18, John Allen of Great Bend placed 2nd in the kneeling position and 2nd overall with a total score of 529 out of 600. Jake Kohman of Great Bend placed 1st in the kneeling position and finished in the top 20 with a total score of 500 out of 600. Corey Merten of Great Bend also finished in the top 20 with a total score of 495 out of 600. Nicole Davis of Ellinwood, Colin Miller of Ellinwood and Thomas Thill of Great Bend also competed in this division.
The Barton County team of John Allen, Ian Allen Jake Kohman and Ryan Kohman placed 3rd out of 8 teams from across the state.
