The Barton County Historical Society will have its volunteer orientation at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, at the museum campus south of the river bridge on U.S. 281. Anyone in Barton County who is interested in information about volunteer service and activities at the museum should stop in or call to find out more.
The meeting will feature a short orientation, information on duties and responsibilities as well as basic museum policies. Refreshments will be provided to those who attend.
Orientation can be attended without obligation. Interested parties can also call the Barton County Historical Society at 620-793-5125 or Volunteer Coordinator Karen Naylor, at 793-6394.
Summer hours begin Tuesday, April 11, and continue until November. The hours during summer are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and Saturday, and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
