The 2015 Relay for Life of Barton County will take place inside the Great Bend City Auditorium this evening, instead of outside, due to the rain.

Due to the ongoing rainy weather, the 2015 Relay for Life of Barton County will move inside to the Great Bend City Auditorium, Lakin and Williams, Relay Chairperson Kandi Wolf announced this morning.

The event will still start with the opening ceremony at 6 p.m. today, but will end early with the closing ceremony at 2 a.m. Saturday instead of 6 a.m. The auditorium will be open to the general public to pick up survivor shirts and for other pre-relay activities at 4 p.m.

Most of the evenings activities will go on as planned, Wolf said. “We hope everyone will still come down and enjoy the food and festivities and support our local relay for life.”

The relay was scheduled to take place at the Barton County Courthouse Square.
